David Beckham shows off mystery tattoo on his wedding ring finger after surprising Victoria in New York

The retired footballer appears to have a new addition to his collection of ink - could it be a tribute to his marriage?

David Beckham seems to have added to his ever-expanding collection of tattoos with a sweet piece of art.

The retired footballer - who is known for his heavily inked body - showed off the new addition as he carried Harper during a stroll round New York City.

Although the detail of the design is unclear, the new ink can be clearly seen on his ring finger as he cradles his four-year-old daughter during a family outing after Victoria's fashion week show.

It's not known exactly what the tattoo symbolises, but its position under his wedding band suggests it could be related to his marriage.

Also visible is his small '7' ink on his little finger, which is a tribute to Harper Seven.

David and his daughter's outing comes after they were joined by his sons - Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz - on the front row of Victoria's runway show on Sunday .

He looked extremely proud of his wife as he sat with their children eagerly looking on after surprising the singer-turned-designer by arriving in the city unannounced.
