This sprightly cat looks ready to win his own dinner and is sitting waiting for his moment to pounce.

Unfortunately he is watching his fishy prize through the glass on an aquarium.

As the footage shows he looks set to make his move while perched on a TV unit next to the fish tank.

Wait: He eyes up his dinner

Closer: He is getting ready to pounce

But in what can only be described as an epic fail he leaps up......and falls to the floor.

Trent Vanderheiden, who uploaded the clip to Youtube, said: "Wife's cat does this all the time.

"You'd think he'd learn."
