Hollywood star Mel Gibson’s new girlfriend is finding all the attention they’re getting after their Golden Globes appearance rather “unpleasant”, according to her pal.

Rosalind Ross, 24, who is trying to carve a career as a script writer in Hollywood, is upset at the alleged unwanted attention that has come from dating the 60-year-oldLethal Weapon actor .

The former vaulting champion, who walked the red carpet on Sunday night’s Golden Globes with the actor, wants to keep her life “private” despite her public appearance.

Her pal and former vaulting partner Devon Maitozo told Mail Online: “There's been a lot of very not very nice media that's been written about her. Sifting through it has not been very pleasant at all.

“Sensationalizing her because of her relationships is not what she's looking for.

“She would probably enjoy it if it was about her and her career instead of her being the girlfriend of a celebrity but it's not and so she'd like to keep her life private.

“She's just a young girl and wants to get on with her life without all the attention.”

According to Radar Online, the couple bonded when they spent time at Gibson’s 500-acre Costa Rica ranch after hitting it off when she allegedly applied for a job at his production company – Icon.

An insider told the website: “They started their romantic getaway in Costa Rica, hiding out in Playa Barrigona, where he owns a 500-acre tropical sanctuary in the middle of the jungle, before heading to Panama.

"It's clear the two of them are really happy together.”
